The camp residents organized what became known as a “mini municipality. ” The years passed. The day comes, in 2004, when the first Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mr. Bajram Rexhepi, and the United Nations special representative of the a ecretary general for Kosovo, Mr. Søren Jessen-Petersen, visit the camp. They promised to close it. Two years later, some families have returned to their hometowns, and some still remain in camp barracks, but most families that did not own land are placed in two apartment buildings, now called social housing buildings, in the place where the camp used to be. Synopsis:Plemetina is very close to Prishtina. It is charming. It is real. This village hosts the survivors from one of the most adventurous journeys in history. The Roma population began its worldwide expedition in the eleventh century from India, and arrived in Southeastern Europe three hundred years later. Since then, they have kept their traditions with loyalty, while adapting to places and times with admirable flexibility and respect. Now, Roma are one of the minorities of Kosovo, and one of the most vulnerable. With this film, Roma youth in Plemetina raise their voice in the name of their brave ancestors.
